Lathe moving and delivery

Here is how lathe moving and delivery actually runs with us, written out before you call rather than explained on the day. A coordinator surveys the job, we put one price in writing, we protect the route and the piece, we photograph condition before the first lift, and we place everything where you want it.

Typically around 900 lbAbout 60 × 40 × 60 inSpecialty equipmentSpecialty equipment

What is included

  • Survey before we accept the job, because some of these we will decline
  • Specialty equipment: machine skates, stair climbers, gantry, spa dollies as required
  • Crew sized for the weight, usually three or four
  • Flat rate quoted in writing, nothing due up front
  • Condition photographs before the first lift
  • Placement, levelling, and reassembly where the piece allows it

What is not included

  • Electrical, gas, plumbing, or refrigerant connection
  • Structural work such as removing a window, door frame, or railing, unless agreed in writing first
  • Crane or hoist work, which we will quote separately through a rigging partner
  • Storage, unless arranged as a separate booking

How to prepare

  • Measure every doorway, gate, turn, and stair on the route and send the numbers
  • Photograph the approach from the street, not just the item
  • Tell us the true weight if you know it, and the make and model if there is one
  • Clear a straight path and confirm the floor can take the load at the destination

How we protect it

Protection goes down before anything is lifted: runners on the floor, jamb protectors on every door on the route, guards on corners and railings. The item is blanket wrapped, then shrink wrapped over the blanket so the wrap never touches a finished surface, then strapped to a dolly or skate sized for it. Heavy freight moves on equipment rather than on arms: skates under the load, straps in tension, a spotter on every turn. If the route will not take it safely, we stop and call rather than force it.

Crews on this work have completed the Common Movers Certification, including the property protection and specialty handling modules. Read the curriculum.

Before you call

lathe moving and delivery, answered

How much does lathe moving and delivery cost?

One flat rate, written down before anything moves. A coordinator reads the photos and the two ZIP codes, sizes the crew, which is usually 4 for this, and sends one number. Not a range and not an hourly meter. Nothing is due up front: you pay after you have walked the rooms with us.

How heavy is it, and how many people does it take?

Around 900 lb is typical, at about 60 × 40 × 60 in. We staff and equip it for that weight, with the specialty gear the piece needs. An hourly clock and the bare minimum of hands is how this job goes wrong.

What if the access is difficult?

Tell us before the day and send photos. Side gates, spiral staircases, low clearances and third floor walk ups are most of what we do. A coordinator will say honestly whether it can be done, and the quote reflects the real route rather than a guess.

Can you do it today?

Sometimes. We hold crews back for same day work. Call or text (877) 657-0555 rather than filling in the form, because a person can staff it faster than an inbox can.

What is not included with lathe moving and delivery?

Electrical, gas, plumbing, or refrigerant connection. Structural work such as removing a window, door frame, or railing, unless agreed in writing first. Crane or hoist work, which we will quote separately through a rigging partner.
