Version 2026-08-08
The short version
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers, and we never share it with anyone for their own marketing. We ask for what it takes to quote your move and do it properly, we tell the crew what they need to carry it out, and that is the end of it.
What we ask you for
Your name, phone number and email so we can reach you. The pickup and delivery addresses, since a price depends on both. What is moving, including any photos or video you send, because that is how a quote stops being a guess. Anything you tell us about access, stairs, parking or timing. If you book, what you paid and how.
Why we hold it
To price the work, to schedule it, to give the crew the address and the access notes on the day, to send you the confirmation, the invoice and the condition record, and to answer you afterwards if something needs sorting out. We also keep enough to run the business: what a job cost, what it earned, and which jobs came from where.
Text messages
We text you about your own move: confirmations, arrival windows, and the day itself. You get those only if you agreed to them, on the form or out loud on a call, and we record which. Reply STOP to any message and the texts end. Reply HELP for a person. Your consent to be texted, and the phone number you gave with it, are never shared with anyone else for any purpose, and are never sold. Message and data rates may apply.
Who else sees it
The crew doing your job gets your name, both addresses, your phone number and the access notes, because they cannot deliver without them. They are not given what you paid, what the job earned, or anything about your other moves. Beyond that: the suppliers who send our email and texts, store the photos you upload, process a card payment, and host the site. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for themselves. We share nothing with anyone else unless the law requires it or you ask us to.
Payments
If you pay by card, the card details go to the payment processor, not to us. We never see or store a full card number. What we keep is the amount, the date, the method and a reference, which is what an invoice and a refund need.
The website
We count page views and where visitors arrive from using our own records, kept on our own servers, so we can tell which pages actually lead to work. We also run the Meta advertising pixel, which tells Meta that an anonymous visitor viewed a page or sent a request. It is sent the name of the event and a broad category, never your name, your address, your phone number or your email. If you would rather not be measured that way, an ad blocker or your Meta ad settings will stop it, and nothing on this site stops working as a result.
Session recording
On some visits we record how the page was used: scrolling, clicks and where a form was abandoned. What you type is masked, so the recording shows that a field was filled and not the letters that went into it. Passwords are never captured. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded at all.
How long we keep it
Quotes that never became a job are kept while they might still turn into one, and cleared out after that. Completed jobs are kept as long as the accounts and the insurance require, because an invoice and a claim can both be raised long after the day. Photos and video you send are kept with the job they belong to. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Asking us what we hold
Write to us and we will tell you what we have about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it. We will not charge you for asking and we will not treat you any differently for having asked. If you are in a state that gives you a formal right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, there is nothing to opt out of here: we do not do it.
Children
This is a service for adults arranging a move. We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13. If you believe we have, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes, and reaching us
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything significant is said plainly rather than buried. Questions, corrections and deletion requests all go to the same place: support@commonmovers.com, or call (877) 657-0555.
